Surrey Pay Grade S3 to S5 - £16,902 - £20,565 (£23,576 - £28,686 FTE) depending on skills and experience.
Start date – by negotiation.

Due to our expanding pupil numbers, Oakwood is seeking to recruit several Teaching Assistants to work within the Access to Learning Faculty (ALF). Teaching Assistants are required to work with students with complex needs on a 1:1 basis in class or in a withdrawal space as needed, with support from ALF Leaders.

The ideal candidate is likely to have some experience in working with young people but not necessarily in an educational establishment. The role is varied and you will need to work with students to enable them to successfully access the curriculum.

We are in particular keen for members to join our team who are passionate about building relationships and improving outcomes for students with autism and students with social, emotional and mental health needs. Oakwood can support you with any further training required, so if you are passionate about supporting students with complex needs, do please get in touch. If you are already experienced in these areas, we would similarly love to hear from you.

You will be joining a successful, large team, dedicated to ensuring that all students are able to access the curriculum. Continued Professional Development is highly valued at Oakwood School and we will assist you in enhancing your knowledge and skillset for the benefit of our students.

You should have:
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Good communication skills and enjoy working with young people.
• A positive outlook and be a team player.
• A commitment to equal opportunities.

The closing date is Wednesday 5th February 2025 (Midday).

Interviews will be held week commencing 10th February 2025.

Please note, interviews may take place sooner for the right candidate so please submit your application as soon as possible.

For an application pack, please visit our website. Completed applications should be emailed to: recruitment@oakwood.surrey.sch.uk.

Curriculum Vitae will not be accepted.

Oakwood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
