Transition to Oakwood
The first year of secondary school is a particularly important time for our students. We work very closely with partner primary schools to ensure the transfer to secondary school is as smooth as possible. We endeavour to make sure that each student develops a familiarity with Oakwood before they arrive on the first day of Year 7. We make every effort to meet each child in his or her primary school before they join Oakwood; Year 5 and 6 students regularly visit us to enjoy our facilities in English, Mathematics and Modern Languages. A number of our specialist staff visit our local primary schools on a regular basis.
During these uncertain times, Oakwood are still working hard to deliver a smooth and enjoyable transition for your child. We have attached the letters which have been sent out to you to-date and will be updating this page regularly with any new information about the transition process.

Supporting Children's Transition to Secondary School
Contributions
We have a materials contribution scheme at Oakwood to help parents ensure that their child is properly equipped with all of the materials and ingredients they will need for their learning. We have prepared a brief (5 minutes) video presentation to explain the scheme accessed via the link below.
